I'm Back.... Sorta « Result #3 on Nov 5, 2009, 2:56am »
Hello guys! I'm back....sort of. We have been now in texarkana for 5 weeks, and my grandma has a 3mb connection, that is why I haven't been around yet. But hopefully by the end of the month we have our house, and early december (I will be on my dad real bad) we will have our pc up and have a phone and inet connection. In the mean time I have decided to up my Emilie Autumn fan site with Staff. I will be asking them to join this board so we can discuss the site. Please don't feel rejected And while I'll be looking for a job, after I have my drivers lisence, I will be reading my html book again and sewing some stuff, I'll be adding a web shop to Fairysdream.
I hope everything will work out how I have it planned! I am so happy to be back!

Monday I am driving to frankfurt, tuesday I'll be flying and wednesday I'll be in texas! My dad thinks by halloween we'll have a house. ^^ So take care, be safe, and keep this place clean LOL. Oh...btw, I broke my little toe... right for traveling And yes, my mom is coming too, released from the hospital yesterday.
they are coming this weekend so i'll have her ask ^_^ if it can't be fixed they get to keep it for parts
Yeah see if you can salvage any of it. I'm sure that the monitor, printer, keyboard and mouse still work right? And I don't know about where you live, but my friend told me that there's a computer place close to where I live; where you can not only buy computer parts, but they'll also help you put together a new computer. I hope that they can fix it, or that you can get yourself another computer soon.

we're trying to get someone to look at this one, so far no response from the first guy, but my bff's technologically advanced brothers will be here around her birthday (halloween time) and i'll have them take a look then, but it just sucks to be w/o my frankie
Yeah I can imagine, it would be pretty devastating for me, I use my computer for everything. Well good luck, I hope that they can fix it for you.

i had my computer for about 7 months, and it was used but only excel had been used because the woman did book keeping for one company and she only had it for a few months, everything on the inside was dell... XD it just really sucks we bought it for $150 (printer, mouse, tower, monitor, keyboard)
Wow... That does suck. At least you didn't spend nine-hundred dollars on it like I did mine. And the woman who had it before bought it brand new? That's a pretty good deal for all that you got for it, maybe she knew it was a lemon before she sold it to you. lol Yeah I wouldn't go with Dell anymore, if you can find somebody who can help you put together a computer, I'd say do that instead. My buddy bought his parts from New Egg and assembled it himself. He now has a better computer than I do, and I believe he did it for less.

it was a Frankenstein computer, have no idea how it crashed i woke up one night to see my computer turn itself off and then back on so i shut it down before things got really weird and now it wont turn back on... the monitor works, computer doesn't
most likely it was over heated but i couldn't put too much in the way of graphics on there so i kept it all on a flash drive, i just guess it was time for it to go... *grumbles* i only had the thing since christmas
Doesn't sound like overheating, usually in those situations it just shuts down automatically. Seems like it was trying to reboot. But yeah it sounds like the computer completely crashed, that's too bad. I've had that happen to me on a revamped computer I bought for seventy-five bucks. lol Frankenstein computers usually do pretty well, if you know how to build one that is. I can tell you one thing, I'm never buying a Dell ever again. Underpowered and nothing for ventilation or cooling.
Well at least you can save the monitor. How old was the computer? Was it refurbished or did you buy it new or used? Well at least you have a back up of your data. lol I've only had my computer for a little over a year, it figures that it starts messing up right when my warranty runs out. Well I hope that you get yourself a new computer soon.

I hear ya there, so how did your computer crash? Mine was overheating (graphics card mostly). Can't stand Facebook or Twitter, I'm way too boring for either, as are a lot of people who don't realize it yet.

facebook viruses « Result #23 on Jul 25, 2009, 8:17pm »
hey just wanted everyone to know that there are viruses in the facebook apps. 3 out of the 5 computers hooked up to the net here have now been infected, my mom's, kuazi's and now the family comp when i was on it. if you have a facebook but don't want to get rid of it, keep it, but stop using and delete all apps from your page, we believe that the viruses are in the quzzies but to be on the safe side don't use the apps.
I'll be deleting my facebook shortly, so if you want to heck in on me and the fam, see our pix, I'll be blogging on my doll site http://www.butterflyblue.amethystrain.com (setting off a section under Etched in Stone just for that, i'll have two tag boards/cboxes up one for the site and one for the blog, that should be up by the end of the week

McAfee isn't free, you have to pay for updates. And Norton is just as bad. Really? Because I find that things you pay for (for the most part) screw up your computer worse. Things like IE and Windows Firewall that of course come with your paid Windows package sucks. And they obviously know it if they're mimicking something free that has been around longer. Now I'll admit that I like WMP when listening to my music because it's organized and all, but if you want to watch something that you need a codec for, it's horrible, VLC is much better for that. And I hate to tell you this, but MSN Messenger, which I'm guessing is what you meant by "msn" is free. Windows is alright, just has a lot of problems like most software does, especially for operating systems. I like how the good folks at Apple seem to think that their Macs are impervious to viruses and such. Though I heard that their operating system was so horrible that they're now allowing the installation of Windows on their computers. See the thing about free programs is that they have to be better, or people won't use them. While pay programs that have been around for a long time, don't have to worry about such things because they come standard on most computers (ie Windows).
I never said McAffee is free, I just stated it screwed up our pc, and if you conclude that I meant it was free, just because I said I don't trust free software prior, is overly judgmental from your side , when knowing, I talk very confusssingly, but I mean no harm. I'm just saying, I don't trust free things too much, and I am more appealed to the standard/mainstream things, because I get along with them.
lol Why are you getting so defensive? It's not my fault that your statement reflected, that you thought that, McAfee was free. And why are you assuming that what you're posting is "harmful"? It's not a personal attack, clarification was needed, that's all. And yes, I understood the point that you made previously, there was no confusion with that.

I don't trust free things too much. Mcaffee screwed up our pc beyond believe, and you can't get it off your pc by just uninstalling it. biatch a monkey LOL. I love Norton, word, ie, msn, windows. The only free things I use is notepad++ , vlc, and filezilla.

We are turning off our phone, internet and canceling our appartment August 31th. When we arrive in texas, we still yet have no clue how much internet access we will have. My grandma has no inet line, so maybe every once in a while I can go to a inet cafe or ask my aunt. Hopefully by november we have our own house and internet.
In the mean time while I'll be gone you can ask JZSquared, my co admin anything.

i'm solely a firefox gal they haven't gone wrong on me yet ^_^
Firefox is faster, safer and blocks more pop-ups. Though I haven't used IE in a while either, so they may have gotten better. Although I know that they're trying to imitate Firefox a lot these days. Oh and I really like the fact that you can customize the look of FF with skins and all, right now I'm using a skin from one of my favorite webcomics (Looking For Group). And not to mention all the cool add-ons they have. I always seem to go for the free programs, they always seem better to me. I mean my computer had Norton or McAfee as the default virus program, but I always use avast! because it's easy to use, free and works a lot better than either of those pay programs. And the list goes on 7Zip, VLC, etc. Plus I heard good things about open office as well, still need to check that out.
